This
week I met with Maria at the library and before our usual reading
session I went over her past science quizzes. Her mother had asked me
last week to help her with science specifically because that is the
class she has the worst grade in. I think she has some trouble with
the reading comprehension, and vocabulary words associated with her
science class and I told her to bring her science book next week so
we could go over the most recent material together. After we
continued reading "Journey to the Center of the Universe"
she seems to really like the adventure aspect of it, but some of the
vocabulary is very specific and difficult. After reading for a while,
i helped her complete her reading log for the week and then her
mother told me maria's funny experience trying out for basketball at
her school, which was hilarious!
