SPEAKING CLASS: LEVEL 2

This class ended up being a day that the students had to present about their culture for about five minutes.  The teacher wrote the agenda on the board and then pulled up the timer on the computer for before the students began.

The first presentation was on "dish dashas" which is a traditional garb worn by men in the middle east. The student presenting was wearing one as he described its importance and what the different styles and colors meant. His speaking skills were good since he was level 2 so I understood everything he said. The next student presented on chi pao dresses in china. She had strong accent but I still understood what she said. She spoke a little slower and made sure to pronounce all of her words clearly. Her vocabulary could have been a little more advanced, I thought, but it still got the point across. The last student presented on the kuwait flag and what the colors represented.

When the presentations were done, the teacher passed out a worksheet for them to fill out about their future college plans. I thought that was good for them to actually write it all down so they can visualize what they want to accomplish as far as their short-term goals. They also did peer evaluations which is a good tool for them to us.
