Jesse Marks TP#6 Pumpkins and Painting
The one thing I enjoy about tutoring children is their joy and creativity. When I arrived, Claire was coloring on the floor of the family room. She jumped off the floor and ran over to the table where we do homework. She was so excited to learn. Things went well for ths first fifteen minutes. After our our reading activity, her face turned red and held her head in her hands. I told her to ask her Mom if she could continue her school or go lay down. Her Mom encouraged her to lay down, but Claire was adamant about spending time with me whether studying or coloring. I found this as a good opportunity to use coloring as an opportunity to practice new vocabulary. We practiced vocabulary including colors, numbers, and disney princesses (her choice). We finished the day by coloring pumpkins together! It was one of ou lighter sessions, but still vey enjoyable!
