Mark B. CP #10

For my last conversation partner session, I again met Fares at "Tea Time". We proceeded to eat copious amount of snacks and treats before settling down. I asked what sort of snacks are eaten in Kuwait and none of his replies sounded too appetizing. I didn't tell him that of course! But, like my mother always told me to do, I kept an open mind.

Fares didn't appear too interested in playing chess again, so I picked up a deck of cards. We brainstormed games that both of us knew and finally settled on poker, texas hold-em' to be exact. He had never played that version before, so I briefly reviewed the rules. After bringing him up to speed, we played about ten games and bet our snacks. He had quite the poker face! By the finish, the food ended up about evenly distributed. There were good feelings and full stomachs all around.
