This was my first opportunity getting to work with Mico. I was a little nervous because this was my first experience working with someone from an eastern culture, but it was a wonderful learning experience. Before our first lesson, I had Mico send me a list of her educational needs and how I can help her improve her english. I took the list and planned our first lesson around her biggest need which is essay writing.
Our first meeting took place at Strozier Library. When I met Mico, she was very nice and sweet! We spent about 15 minutes getting to get know each other. She shared her experiences with CIES and being in America. Following our small talk, I preceeded to intruct on how to construct a five point essay. I lectured for 10 minutes then had Mico construct an outline for an essay.
After the lesson, we discussed her plans for admitance into the FSU College of Communications. This allowed me to see the path that she planned to take and how I am able to help her.
