I had the privilege to observe Sana McHarek's class. This was my first class was my first opportunity observing a lower level class. I was excited about getting to observe Mrs. Sana's class because she is not of American descent. I wanted to how a foreign (now American) teacher would teach English to students in the United States.
She began the class with a vocabulary quiz. It was a timed exam. While the students were taking the quiz, she shadowed their progress from above.
The main activity was a reading comprehension exam. It was an example of a TEFL Reading portion. In order for each student to choose the best answer without hearing others, she made cards with letters representing "a", "b","c", and "d". They would hold up the card they think held the correct answer. In this way, she was able to focus on each student's errors. This activity took up the whole of the class.
