Angel and I met on Thursday before the class.
I was suppose to meet my conversation partner that day, but she couldn't make it. I was thankful to Angel when she accept my sudden suggestion to meet.
We read a short article from the book, The Chicken Soup for Mother's Soul, and looked over the vocabulary words she doesn't know. She corrected my pronunciation once, too. I told her frankly that I am also learning English like her when we met for the first time.
She couldn't come up with her critical incidents at that time, so we talked about the differences in shopping here and her country instead. I think we might can talk about culture shock later again.
She said she enjoys the time she can rest in the evening the most, and also mentioned that she wants to talk in her native language when she is with her cousin and his family. Her cousin asks her to speak in English at home for her to improve soon, but she seems like she need some rest on language, too.
She was expecting to be placed higher levels at CIES on next session, and I hope so, too.
