TP 3 Pamela

9/7/2013 2:00 I met you at the Starbucks on West Tennessee Street. He was a student from Japanwerree he had started studying at CI es less than a month ago a go. He said the hardest thing for himwas pronunciation of the English language.to get a good idea of some of the challenges Taku faced we read a magazine article on the pros and cons of grades in school. The reason I picked this particular article was because it was easy reading and I felt it was appropriatefor either a high school student or a college student. I asked Taku to read the article and then we discussed the article together. Taku seemed to have good reading comprehension and his language aquistionn skills were good. Taku had been taught English for 6 years between the ages of 5 and 12. He admitted that the hardest thing for him was pronounciation of some English words. So I looked up a website on ESL pronunciation practice for Japanese learner's. The website was http://www.englishcurrent.com/esl-materials-2/english-pronunciation-drill/. The site had excellent pronunciation exercises for many different llanguage learner's. We practiced for about 40 minutes, til around 3, that's when Renan, my other tutee showed up. Story continues on TP#4. seat / sheet girl sea sick peanut butter t-shirt / t-shirts video game coffee river / liver rice / lice play / pray turtle squirrel pool world french fries

  1. Wow that's a long time to study English! That's great that you were able to find specific exercises on pronunciation for him. I will have to use that website when Erico and I practice pronunciation :)
