After
another day of Foundations class observations, Isabella and I ate lunch
together. This time, I wanted to save myself $7 and eat the lunch I had packed.
Isabella assured me, “I eat fast,” and disappeared inside Suwannee
before designating a meeting place. She knows I’m a redhead and burn easily J,
choosing a table “that is dark. How do you say?”

Luckily,
Caitlin was also meeting her partner, Rinner. We got to chat about the FSU
circus until he came out and joined us. Caitlin was in the circus for one
year!! And she did bike tricks! I loved learning that. Everyone has such
interesting stories that you don’t necessarily expect. I wish I knew bike
tricks (headstand on a bike!!).

Isabella
joined us before too long, and we chatted about First Friday. Caitlin thought
of taking her partners there, which is such a good idea. First Friday was
something I always loved about
Tallahassee
when I lived here. Both of our partners were interested. Isabella shared that
she lost her phone in the Orland Greyhound station, so I helped her by calling
them. Unfortunately, customer service was remarkably unhelpful and the station
itself didn’t pick up. She seemed resigned to switching to a different phone. It
is so difficult to be in another country and figure out the phone networks. I
lost my phone in
Ecuador
on the bus, and it was gone. I wish I could have helped her more, but I think
she’s right in thinking that if the phone was lost in a bus station, it’s
probably gone for good.
Isabella also shared some defensive strikes she has learned through her class at the police station. She ordered Rinner to choke her so she could show us the most important move, breaking a chokehold. They couldn't contain their laughter. Before
we knew it, it was time to trudge back up the hill for more classes!
