September 2, 2013 Hameed met me at Panera, which worked out perfectly since he lived very close to that location. Hameed is from Afghanistan,  and he has beening living in America for only 2 weeks. He left his wife and 2 children, as well as a huge family of relatives , in order to come and pursue his Master's Degree in Demotography. Hameed speaks 4 languages, including English. He has been working in Iraqi for 8 years, for an American based companies. He said he had grown accustomed to working with Americans, but he admits he was ill-prepared for the wway American women dress. In Afghanistan women are not permitted to walk in public without a head covering and long garmets. However, he is very liberal in his thinking. When he married his wife he told her that she did not have to wear the veil in public. He is happy to have the experience of going to school in America, and he looks forward to getting to know more about American culture. It was a pleasure meeting Hameed. I look foward to talking with him again.
