TP: Claire

This was my second appointment with Claire and she is an adorable handful! I arrived at her house and was graciously welcomed by Claire and her mother. I always start our lesson by talking to Claire about whatever she wishes. It allows her to get excited about learning because I am able to guide and apply the conversation to the upcoming lesson. Secondly, we began to learn new vocabulary words while reviewing new ones. Her biggest struggle is sounding out letters and site reading, but she is progressing. I am having her review daily and memorize the new words in context of "conversation time" in order to give her some example sentences. She is improving, but I want to see her site reading improve. Lastly, we read a book about "Secret Santa". I would read most, but would have her attempt to sight read several sentences in order to let her practice her phonetic sounds. I will be meeting with her again on Saturday. I am excited and look forward to seeing her success and improvement.
