CP#5 Alice

Last night, after a very long day that consisted of class observations, tutoring sessions, and class, I met with Bruno, one of my conversation partners. Initially, we had planned on meeting up at a Starbucks near the library on campus. I sat outside in the parking lot waiting for his arrival, taking shelter in my car, because it started raining out of nowhere. Bruno met me by my car, and we walked to the entrance of Starbucks. By this time, I was craving a tall, black coffee!! I was running on fumes and needed a pick me up for the long ride back to Valdosta. However, the Starbucks was closed!!  Being that neither I, nor Bruno, were familiar with Tallahassee, we racked our brains trying to figure out a place close to campus that served coffee. I remembered seeing a restaurant called “The Sweet Shop” off of Jefferson Street across from campus. We decided to go there.  Neither of us had been there before, and I must say, it was a very nice place!
The coffee was great. The conversation was better. I found out that Bruno has a twin sister in Brazil named Bruna. He told me that, for the most part, they are nothing alike, which I found to be very interesting, because most of the twins that I know are very similar in nature. He showed me pictures of her, and they look pretty much identical! If Bruno decided to sport a long blonde wig for whatever reason, he would look like a clone of her.  He also showed me pictures of his dog, a pug named Beethoven. I am a sucker for pugs, so this was a high point of the conversation for me. He also told me how he had spent some time the other night with his friends at a strip club. At first, I was caught a bit off guard. I’m sure that after noticing the reaction on my face, he knew that there was some kind of misunderstanding, because after some clarification, he realized that he meant to tell me that he went to a club named “Strip” with his friends. Needless to say, we had a good laugh from that!
